oh how i loathe the onset of this cold weather each year. i ask myself why i live in this frozen hell each and every year… and the answer is always something along the lines of “i’m an east coaster.” well, it seems that this year i have reached my freak out point earlier than ever before. it is february 3rd and i am honestly ready to pack it up for mexico. live on the beach. eat tacos. drink liquados.
sigh… if only that were the life i really wanted.
the truth has to be something along the lines of: i enjoy being able to complain about the icy sidewalks, cranky neighbors and fighting over who has to dig the car out this time. if i didn’t in some sick way enjoy it then what the hell is wrong with me?
but let’s be honest, that’s most years. this year is different. this winter the weather has me completely bummed out. it’s cold, frosty, snowy, icy. i’m just plain sick of it and it is curbing my desire to do anything. including write a blog. or eat a sandwich.
i long for the days when i can once again go to the park and loll about in the grass. i yearn to run through the sprinkler at the playground and complain about the humidity… oh please let the groundhog be correct. i am in desperate need of an early spring. i beg of you mother nature… please give us a break.
